Resolved Question: Northumbria or Newcastle University?? Stay or Change??

Last year I had an offer to do Business Management at Newcastle University (dependant on grades) but then only achieved BBC A levels instead of the required ABB. At the time I was disappointed, but had my reserve down as Northumbria University to do the same course. Now a year on I'm still not really enjoying my course due to missing huge chunks through illness and drunken antics. I nice of regret not taking the alternative course offered to me by Newcastle Unversity, which was Marketing. A year on I re applied through UCAS to a host of Universities with Newcastle again offering me the Marketing course. Should I change to Marketing at Newcastle University even though I feel the subject is a bit too specific??? Newcastle is seen as the better University, but is it that much better?? Job Prospects?? Maybe if I start again I'll meet a lot more new people and act on the opportunites that I wasted with my initial choice?? Any thoughts and opinions are much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

She's goes outside alot and has plenty of opportunites to poop then. we were told that she was housetrained when we adopted her. I thought that after 3 weeks she would have adapted to her new environment. What should I do about her teeth, breath & reduce her poping problem?

Resolved Question: Employment Opportunities on Kadena AB in Okinawa, Japan?

I'm moving to Kadena Air Force Base in Okinawa, Japan sometime in August of 2008 as a married spouse with no dependents. I'm beginning to research career and education opportunites. I'll be graduating with a bachelor's of science degree in Psychology from Wright State University in Spring of 2008. Does anyone know what nice of employment opportunites I can receive with that? It could be business or psychology related. With the master's degree I'm looking to do relationship counseling or a research focus. Basically, I want to go there with a plan to keep moving forward with my life while starting our life (my soon to be husband's and mine). Any suggestions are appreciated! Thank you! :)

Resolved Question: Baruch Honor or Boston U?

Though I'm still waiting for Cornell and Columbia, I'm pretty sure eventually I will be torned between Baruch and Boston since 1) most likely the 2 C's won't accept me. 2) I want to go straight to business and really want to pursure MBA in one of top graduate schools. Baruch to me is a practical approach because there's less competition and stress, more opportunites, and more likely to receive higher GPA, and it's FREE! But Boston has the name. My mom likes the name and she's willing to pay for it, but I want to keep the money for graduate school. I just want to ask which one has more internships and is a better choice in the long run.

Resolved Question: I am looking for a legitimate home business...?

I am looking for a legitimate home based business with a low start up cost. I have extensive working knowledge in the medical field and the gaming field. Some companies do not want to share. How would I receive around this? I adore this nice of work, but I will consider other opportunites in order to be able to work from my labtop. Bottom line, my goal is to be able to move anywhere in the country and still have a job.

Resolved Question: Opportunites after Foreign Service?

I was thinking of becoming a foreign service officer and hopefully working in China for around five years(I intend on learning Mandarin in college). I was wondering what nice of opportunities there are for younger people exiting the foreign service(I'd be around 28) in areas like international business ect. Also, how available are these opportunities? Forget War - I know about the entrance exam, I'm not deterred. Hypothetically speaking with the five year stay you haven't answered my question. I want to know what can be done with the experience.

Resolved Question: My ex stopped paying spousal support 3 years ago after only paying for a year and a half. What are my rights?

My ex filed for divorce 5 years ago after a 20 year marriage. The courts awarded me spousal support. After paying for 1 1-2 years my ex stopped paying saying he could not afford it(yet he continues to live a very high lifestyle) I moved to Mexico because the cost of living was cheaper and the employment opportunites were better for a 50 yr. old lady who had no college degree. That time was spent raising the kids and supporting my ex as he started his business. I am now in a position to take him to court for back spousal support. Will having lived in another country (due to economics)for the last 5 years affect my chances at regaining what is owed to me in the state of California from my ex. His business is doing great right now, he continues his excessive lifestyle, has health insurance a new car every year etc......while I am still barely making ends meet after every these years. The additonal income from what the courts determined would at least allow me to receive Health Insurance.

Open Question: Sexism. Have the roles reversed (slightly)?

Back in the day, women were treated unjustly of being incompetent and unworthy; be that for careers or social status. Thanks in big to feminist organizations and influential characters, alot (if not every) of that has been dissolved. lady have equal (if not greater) opportunites at careers. The stay-at-home mom is now a choice, not a commitment of being a parent. But I'm afraid that in our desire to balance the table we may have overlooked the male side. Like I said, businesses are often looking for female employees in an effort to better balance their corporation. Although this is viewed is ridding the country of sexism, it also offers females an advantage when it comes to employment in the here and now. In the media, women are portrayed as sex symbols, but also as intelligent. How many times do you look a man the butt of a joke insulting his intelligence in a commercial or tv show? In the media? There are women activist groups. As far as I can tell, there aren't any men activist groups. Or atleast, they receive no attention. The most prevalent cancer charities are breast cancer charities. Breast cancer is the third deadliest cancer in the US (after lung and colon). Prostate is fourth, with ovarian rounding out the top 5. Breast cancer research raises more money than the other 4 combined (excluding cigarette awareness ads) and over 10 times as much as prostate cancer. There are marches and events in the name of breast cancer. Prostate events are few and receive little attention. Two weeks ago, my local hospital created department of women's health stating that "research has shown that when women are healthy, society is healthy". Yeah, except for the other 50%. Women's studies is now a course you can take. While I support learning more about a lady's role in our history, science, and politics, it should be taught in those classes and not in a seperate class devoted entirely to women. It seems that if a man stands up for men, they are seen as sexist. If a lady stands up for women, they are a hero. Don't receive me wrong, their are sexists out there, both male and female. But most are at the extreme ranges of anti-feminism and pro-feminism. I am only giving the male perspective. There is a female perspective that I'm sure is very different from mine. Also, there will be many men who don't agree with me. Either my views are wrong or their views have been influenced by today's supposed pro-equality society and values. I'd adore to hear any side. I apologize for the typos. Got through it pretty quick. To both Donna and Marx - It's easier to blame the wage "gap" on sexism than it is to say women on average work at lower paying jobs than their male counterparts. When you look at a lady's pay in regards to the field they're in compared to a man's, it is more or less equal. People seem to have a problem with the numbers and manipulate them to argue their point. Women, on average, make less than males when considering every job lumped into one. When considering individual jobs, that is not the case. To Donna - Just like I don't support reparations to African American's for a past wrong-doing, I don't support reparations for women for a past wrong-doing. I have not committed an act against women. I support equality (the real definition of equality, not the one that many people believe implies revenge for women). To Merry - Where I'm from, the government has stipulated that if a man and a lady have equal or close equal qualifications, the lady will be selected for the job. When a man stands up for men like i have in this post. I'm glad that i have not been labeled that way as of yet. Perhaps there should be no women or men activists groups, and merely a group aimed at equality. Feminists are not that group.

Resolved Question: How to become an astrounaut?

My dream, since I was a kid has been to become an astronaut. Recently I arrived in the US, after having won from the green card lottery and became exuberant about the opportunites of pursuing my dream. However, there are several obstacles, which impede me: 1. US citizenship requirement - this is not a big deal, since after approx. 5 years I will have obtained US citizenship. 2. I am short-sighted and wear contact lenses (L and R -3.5), but I read in the NASA web page, that this is not a problem as long as the vision is laser corectable. 2. NASA requires a piloting background (US Air force) or bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in engineering, biological science, physical science, or mathematics. Unfortunately, I do not fit here. I am 24 years old and have a Bachelor's degree in Business administartion and some work experince in banking. Can I continue my education in the US by pursuing a degree in psysical science or biology on a master’s level, without having studied previously that subject? Is this the only way? Does NASA accept application’s from people, who do not have such an educational background? If I knew that one day I will have the chance to live and work permenently in the US, I would have chosen one of the enumerated majors at university. However, my country of roigin does not conduct any space exploration practises, so that my dream was unrealizable prior to my arrival in the US.

Resolved Question: International Business/Finance online colleges & opportunities?

Does any one know of an online school that is regionally accredited that is affordable (preferably no more than $250/credit) and offers bachelor degrees in either International Business or Finance? Any one know of any opportunities working in Japan with these? I tutor myself Japanese. I've finished about 2yrs of study with a knowledge of 800 kanji and beginning Intermediate grammar topics. I have 60+ Japanese magazines, 30 or so Japanese novels and of course tons of textbooks/reference books. So I'm pretty set on learning the language. I want to know what nice of opportunites are available with a business degree in Japan. International or finance is my interest, I can't look how accounting would be useful going overseas since I would learn the american system of accounting and it's apparently different in international realms. Or any recommendations/information on opportunites, requirements, degrees, etc. would be especially welcome.

Cos when you do something...ur body "attacks" itself and make the pain more extreme. There are fibromyalgia pain points every around the body. Also you can receive IBS and digestive problems, depression, anxiety, lack of concentration, etc. Its not a nice thing to have as it takes away the quality of your life. I have found that homoeopathic medicine has helped. But the things that have helped me most are acupuncture, chiropracter and regular massage. If you google fibromyalgia you will find good websites that cover it. the icy weather and especially rain and wet weather makes it worse.they tend to prescribe anti-depressants for the pain. but i didn't take them. i found homoeopathic tablets "arnica" helped with the muscle pains.it really is about managing the illness and the pain.wish ur mum feels better soon.

Voting Question: How do I stop feeling like a failure in life?

I feel bad because I've done so bad in school, this year I had to drop out of college, so basically I was at home every the time. I have a job working for my parents, I help our around the home and sometimes I help my pal with her business but I still feel lazy and overall unsucessful, I feel like I am not learning anything new or being productive. Especially compared to my friends, who have good jobs, do well in school, do volunteer work, are involved in clubs or activities and travel, while I just stay at home most of the time. I feel like I am not living life to the fullest, most people my age go out with their friends and have fun, which I don't do either. I have talents but I don't know where or how to use them, and I feel like nobody would even appreciate them. I am always beating up myself about how bad I have done in life and why can't I be more like others. I don't know how to cease feeling like a failure and what I can do to be successful because I don't receive very many opportunites for that.

Resolved Question: My views on government...?

I just felt like expressing my views... 1. I believe philosophy is overrated. Philosophers try taking the world and summarazing it in one sentence. The world is too complicated for that. 2. The idea of a melting pot is a good but in the long run cant stand unless it is extremely liberal and the government doesnt involve itself in the peoples lives so much because everyone is coming from different places and have COMPLETELY different views. 3. That brings me to my next point. Socialism is BADDDD. Im sorry to say but it has to be tough luck for needy people because if the government continues to tax wealthy people more than needy than there is no progress at every. Why should anyone work then no? That is my problem with Obama. If you like the idea of a communist running the country move to cuba 4. I like the idea of our nations government system, however the presidential candidates really have to be a person strong in strategy tactics. These guys are not as smart as bill gates or einstein or even close. sorry to say. 5. Illegal immigrants have to be deported. I hate to say it. We are paying for their education and healthcare. I understand they do the tiny jobs nobody else wants but maybe thats why kids are so spoiled. there are no job opportunites for them. Id adore to make money and clip peoples yards [im 15] 6. Government shouldnt receive involved in a lot of the stuff that it is. I believe it should be the charity organizations who donate, and independent businesses to arrive up with new products. 7. Inheritance tax is horrible! If the government is going to take any of it not 60%!! btww im a 15 year old girl. & i think i could do a better job than every these stupid guys who are only the leaders of our country because their dads had enough money to receive them into/through harvard

Resolved Question: Reasons to tell a potential employer why you are leaving you current job.?

I am interviewing for a job that is exactly what I do now. I want to leave my current job because of a bad working environment. Unfortunatley the bad working environment involves one individual. I have spoken to managment numerous times about this individual, but there is no way she will be leaving anytime soon. So I know that I have to leave. Leaving is fine, I just don't know what to tell the potential employer why I am leaving. Since it is the same exact job just at a different business, I can't say I'm leaving to better my career or for more opportunites to move up. There is no moving up, and I don't want to move up. I would appreciate any help.

Where do I go and approximately how much would it cost? I'm looking for more info or websites that help with leads and other information that does not cost a lot. i.e. guerilla marketing and such. any ideas?

Resolved Question: Legitimate work from home opportunities??

Can snyone tell me of any legitimate work from home ooportunities or give me any ideas of how I can work from home. I would need to earn approx. £1,000 a month. I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy 2 weeks ago & I really do not want to have to return to work when my maternity pay/leave runs out. I want to spend that precious time with my little boy but also be able to contribute financially to my household. Is there anyone out there involved in a good home based business or any work from home opportunites who could genuinely help me? I live in the Uk & would be most grateful for any advice & help. Thank you in advance.

Resolved Question: Anyone have American Express's SimplyCash Card for Small Businesses?

I want to apply for this card bc it offers great cashback opportunites, however the terms & conditions made me question their promises! If you have the card, you know it offers 5% cash back on every gasoline, office supplies, & cell phone purchases... however, in the FINE PRINT it says that in order to recieve the 5% cashback the merchant must key in the correct vendor's code with your transaction... otherwise you'll just receive back 1% like on every other purchase. So my question is, what is YOUR experience with the card? Is everyone getting the advertised 5% or minimum 1% on qualifying purchases? I'd appreciate any feedback :) THANK YOU!!! I will pick a best answer :)

Resolved Question: Am I making the right decision???

I work at a business now making $800 every two week and I just got offered a job at a bank making about half of that (between the pay clip and the hours). I hate my current job and have decided to take the bank job because I will have more opportunites to move up plus I also plan on going to college to receive my degree in accounting. I can afford the pay clip. Am I making the right decision?? I should have mentioned before that I am 19 years old living in Louisiana (about 30 min. from New Orleans). Another reason that I would like to take this job is that I really like handling money. Weird I know, but I like to count it and make it every neat and balance it. Its one of my many OCD's. lol
